Don't keep it a secret! What I mean by that is, don't keep your weight loss goals to yourself. Use the peer system that you have to assist in sticking to your programs or finding new ones to keep you on the road toward reaching your goals. So how is this peer network going to keep you on track to your goals?
Our peer system can be a base of major base of support in sticking to our plans and achieving our goals through their influence in our lives. We strive everyday for the approval of those that we love and let into our lives. By sharing these weight loss goals with them, we start to feel obligated toward achieving these goals, so as not to let them down.
Also our peers can lend support in our times of need. One thing about the human condition is that we are social beings for the most part, and continual want to find ways to not only help ourselves, but also help those that are within our peer network. The members of our peer group will lend empathy and support when they see our need for it. When we hit stumbling blocks in our road toward weight loss, they will be there to help us up and pull us back onto the path of reaching our goals.
So don't keep your weight loss goals to yourself! The more of your peer group that you bring into sharing in your weight loss goals, the better your chances are of achieving those goals!
